He'll be able to play but what usually happens at Gleneagles is he'd have to book beforehand. They are unlikely to let a single player go round on his own so generally they will match him up others of a similar ilk to make a fourball. Helps them get best use of their times.
The Kings course and the Queens course are the two best known. The Scottish Open was played over the Kings before it moved to Loch Lomond.
The newest course, the Monarch (designed IIRC by Jack Nicklaus) is to be used for the 2014 Ryder Cup and is the longest of the 3.
Won't be cheap but if you are staying in the hotel the golf will likely come as part of a package.
