About Us

Visited Scotland was the brainchild of Willie Dunn who had links with the tourist trade through his position as a local councillor in West Lothian. He sold the idea to Cliff Pike in January 2006 and VisitedScotland - the idea - was formed.

Trevor Hannant was brought on board shortly after to work on the visible presence of the site and during the February and March, the look and feel started to take shape.

The site was finally launched, in part, in May 2006 on a phased basis as different parts of the country were 'brought online' with the first version of the site fully completed at the end of June 2006. However, with some irritations in the way the site worked, after a couple of weeks rest, it was down to business again and a new look and new software to enhance the user's experience of the site.

And that's where we are - version 2!
